Celebrating inclusivity and diversity this Pride Month at DLF Promenade
The rainbow is love. The rainbow is beauty. The rainbow is a powerful symbol of inclusivity.
And while the battle for inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community has come some way, there is still a long road ahead. The Stonewall Uprising in June 1969 was the watershed moment of the rebellion. In the 53 years since that landmark moment, the community has achieved much. Queer people and their allies have come together to create awareness, change laws, advocate equal rights and carve out safe and judgement-free spaces to call their own.
While the fight against discrimination and homophobia is on 365 days a year, June is the month of celebration and a commemoration of the wins. Pride Month across the world is a reiteration of all the big and small ways in which members of the queer community celebrate themselves—their identities, their chosen pronouns and their sexuality.
Celebrating the Rainbow
The work of celebrity champions and everyday heroes of the LGBTQ+ community has helped queer the discourse. Street marches across the country have celebrated the rainbow as a symbol of diversity and freedom.
And all these colours have found reflection across the board and from fashion to food, brands have stepped forward with an open mind. You can be proud who you are no matter your gender, identity or sexual preference. And whatever your chosen colour may be, the rainbow belongs to everyone.
In keeping with this, all through the month of June, DLF Promenade celebrates the rainbow as a glorious symbol of LGBTQ+ pride. This is an extension of the brand’s year-round commitment to diversity and inclusivity which includes the institution of gender-neutral toilets and an overall culture of sensitivity towards all who walk in.
The Grand Queer Bazaar
